The same day as our mountaineering trip we drove into Denver. We stayed at the Hotel Monaco, this hotel chain has an interesting addition to its rooms; your own Goldfish in every room! We named ours Mean Joe, a reference to a Steelers (American Football) legend. Oh and for the first time since I arrived I got to see a great American tradition . . . smoking manhole covers!
